A collaboration between Italian jazz maestros Mirko Guerrini, Ilaria Crociani, Carlo Canevali and Melbourne based jazz heavyweights Mark Elton and Ryan Griffith. Reviving the true sounds of Italy with a distinctly modern jazz, band leader Mirko Guerrini has created a unique and world class ensemble. The repertoire includes some of the great Italian songs, written by the most famous songwriters, like Gino Paoli (Senza Fine, Che cosa c’è), Domenico Modugno (Meraviglioso), Fred Buscaglione (Guarda che luna, La sigaretta), Bruno Martino (Forse, Estate, Baciami per domani) Lelio Luttazzi (Mi piace, Tua), Fred Bongusto (Me so’ ‘mbriacato ‘e sole, Se tu non fossi bella come sei).

Culture and Taste

At VinItalia, you will have the chance to admire beautiful Renaissance museum quality reproductions, hand-painted by talented Italian artists with more than 30 years experience. These artists have adopted the same techniques of the Renaissance Masters, such as Caravaggio, Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Raffaello and specialised on a specific historical period and artist.

Photos - Foto

The Istituto Italiano di Cultura Melbourne is proud to present the second exhibition of images from our highly successful photographic competition: Austalia & Italian – Foto & Photos. The competition’s aim is to bring together visions of Italy and Australia, each seen from the other’s point of view, in two thematic categories which could be freely interpreted: Italy through Australian eyes and Australia through Italian eyes. Those visions and images are supposed to encourage debate about cross-cultural communication and understanding.
